MAASK is a field recording and production project from South London.
It's a practice of sound walks, extended listening and recording techniques and of weaving material from the field into functional dance, ambient and electronic music. Inspired by and engaging with wild spaces, the places between places, accidents and the old and the strange, the project seeks to explore the possibilities of building new worlds and stories by the combination and collage of sound.
Across these tracks you can hear a storm moving the branches of an oak in Powys, reeds photosynthesising under a lake in Rajasthan, highland moss, thunder above Kumasi and wind moving through a neolithic burial chamber on an island off Cornwall.
